Terms of Use
Effective date: 2026-06-05
These are the terms for using Miqra, a Tanakh reader for Apple platforms operated by KHASSINX LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“KhassinX”, “we”).
By installing or using Miqra, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The app
Miqra is an iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS application for reading the Tanakh (the Hebrew Scriptures). It presents a public-domain edition of the text alongside a public-domain translation, and offers an on-device concordance that surfaces related passages. Miqra does not interpret, paraphrase, summarize, or generate scripture. It shows the text as it is.
The app is distributed exclusively through the Apple App Store. Apple’s standard end-user license agreement (the “Licensed Application End User License Agreement”) also applies to your use of Miqra; in case of conflict between these terms and Apple’s EULA, Apple’s EULA prevails for matters within its scope.
License
Miqra grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s usage rules and these terms.
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app (except where applicable law expressly permits), remove or alter proprietary notices, use the app to develop a competing product, or use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Pricing
Miqra is offered pro bono — free of charge, with no advertising and no tracking. An optional in-app tip jar lets you support the work voluntarily; it unlocks no content and is not required to use any feature. There is no subscription and no paywall on the text. Any tip is processed by Apple via the App Store; we never see your payment information.
The scripture text
The Hebrew text of the Tanakh — the masoretic text “Tanach with Ta’amei Hamikra” — and the English translation, “The Holy Scriptures: A New Translation” (Jewish Publication Society, 1917), are both in the public domain and were obtained via Sefaria.org. Miqra attributes each edition it uses. We make no claim of ownership over the public-domain scripture or translations. The app’s own software, design, and assets are proprietary to KhassinX.
Provided “as is”
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, KHASSINX LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Termination
You may stop using Miqra at any time by deleting it from your devices. We may discontinue the app at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, where KHASSINX LLC is organized, without reference to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws of your residence give you mandatory rights to a different venue.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version replaces the old at this URL. The previous version remains accessible via the GitHub commit history of this site.
